Both Sides of the Coin: In relationships, as in consciousness, both sides of the coin must be accepted as equal. One cannot move out of conflict with another until the experience of both people has been honored. ~ Everyday Wisdom by Paul Ferrini

Standing for Truth without Attacking Others:

Standing up for truth is a forceful act, but it should not be a violent one.

There will be times when you must stand up for yourself and for others who are being mistreated.

You cannot live your life in a state of fear, cowering in a corner while others make decisions for you.

You must stand up and be counted. However, you can and should do this without attacking others.

It is important to stand up for the truth. However, if you don’t stand in a loving way, it is not truth that you stand for.

From Everyday Wisdom by Paul Ferrini

Stay in Your Own Life: Don’t make decisions for other people. That will just take the focus away from your life. Let others find their own way. Support them. Encourage them. Cheer them on. But don’t think you know what’s good for them. You don’t know. When you take inappropriate responsibility for others, you overextend and weaken yourself. Don’t do that. Let others live their lives. Stay in your own life and make your own decisions. Put your attention where it belongs. Listen to your guidance, honor it, act on it, and be committed to it. That is a full time job.  ~ Everyday Wisdom by Paul Ferrini

Thoughts and Quotes for Today 10.2.13 October 2, 2013

1. Authenticity: Authentic Spirituality does not ask US to pretend to be someone or something we are not. Authenticity wants US to be who we are with all our contradictions and dichotomies. If we have to deny any aspect of who we are to be spiritual, then we are creating an inauthentic spirituality. True spirituality will be an instrument of revelation, not a tool for denial.

2. “What if our religion was each other… If our practice was our life… If prayer was our words? What if the temple was Earth…
If forests were our church… If holy waters – the rivers, lakes and oceans.  What if meditation was our relationships… If the teacher was Life… If wisdom was self-knowledge… If Love was the center of our being?”  ~ Ganga White

3. “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” ~ Yoda

4. Life gets complicated when we spend more time trying to prove to “others” who we are instead of devoting more time to KNOWING our Self…

5. The most creative act we will ever undertake is the act of creating our Self…

1. Realizing Perfection: Perfection is never about the past or the future. It is always and only about now. You are perfect right now regardless of what you are thinking and feeling, regardless of your perceived problems or unfinished business.  You are perfect no matter how many mistakes you think you have made. There is nothing you have thought, felt or done that prevents you from realizing your perfection right here and right now. The question is: are you willing to see it? Are you wiling to see yourself as God sees you? ~ Paul Ferrini

2. Everything you need to fulfill your destiny was with you at the moment before, during, and after your conception–so retreat to that knowledge now. Trust in the infinite wisdom that created you. ~ Wayne Dyer

3. The ideal relationship is not a matter of one being dependent upon the other to get something. It is when two or more come together for the increased joy of sharing what each already has and is. And love is all there is. Love and joy are a package deal. You cannot have one without the other, and both are increased when shared.

4. Say what you will, it is what you do that attests to what you truly believe. The good news is that Truth will be true regardless of what you believe. The bad news is, you can believe in what is not true and it will seem very real and true to you.

I am often asked what I “do” or “teach” … my practice is always to live and teach Love, with that I teach the practical application of taking 100 responsibility for our own happiness… without shifting shame, blame or guilt onto anyone or anything… while we play a victim in the world we can never be happy… I CHOOSE HAPPY… We have had many teachers along the way, AND we choose what we learn from each teacher… Am I grateful for the continuing Gift I give myself each day, with this practice of Gathering the Evidence of Truth of how I want to feel today (Re-minder – our thoughts create our feelings and the only question we need to ask is “why would I choose thoughts today that make me feel bad?”)

1. Listening for Truth : You are responsible for what you believe, even if you choose to believe what others tell you. So don’t be afraid to question the authority of others. No one knows better than you do what you truly need. ~  Everyday Wisdom by Paul Ferrini

2. Today We Affirm:  It’s a new week of new Life and new possibilities for good. I am ready to happily swim, float and play in the ocean of miracles. There is nothing limiting me but my own thought and now all old limiting beliefs are washed away in the shimmering blue waves. I am not afraid to be happy today. I am not afraid of Love. I’m here to experience all the good that Life has to offer me today as I OPEN TO RECEIVE It’s gifts. I am swimming with Life today and Life is very very good. ~ Jacob Glass

3. The awareness of Love’s presence has nothing to do with getting someone to love you. Love is a good thing. It rests solely on giving Love, not on finding and getting it. You are Love. You are not lacking Love. If you cannot find Love within you, you are not going to find it out there. If you do find it within you, you will see it everywhere.

4. When I choose Peace above all else, it sets the intention of the Heart in motion and begins to allow all my self limiting beliefs to crumble..

“Ultimately, what is real can’t be seen or heard or thought or grasped. You’re just seeing your own eyes, hearing your own ears, reacting to the world of imagination. It’s all created by your mind in the first place. You name it, you create it, you give it meaning upon meaning, upon meaning. You add the what to reality, and then you add the why. It’s all you. The original is wiped out in the wave of the new, which is already old. Thought deletes anything outside itself.” ~ Byron Katie

Our inner purpose is to awaken. We share that purpose with every other seeming person on the planet, because it is the purpose of dream of humanity.

We carry inside us the wonders we seek outside us….

You cannot see your reflection in running water, only in still water. ~ Zen Proverb

What matters is how quickly you do what your soul directs

1. The mind usually says, “I know, I know, I know.” But the “don’t-know mind” is where wisdom lives. ~ Byron Katie

2. “Life will bring us everything we need, to show us what we haven’t undone yet.” ~ Byron Katie

3. Seeing the Lamp or the Lampshade? Truth is not exclusive. It belongs to all of us equally.

Exclusive concepts of Truth are delusional, no matter what tradition they come from. We are beacons of Light hiding under lampshades of different colors and size. We either choose to see the Light in one another or we become preoccupied with the lampshade. Love see the Light within and does not focus on the shadows we cast.

4. An Alchemist is one who transforms everything with Love.

5. “A flower blossoms for its own joy.” ~  Oscar Wilde

1. Honestly finally, “our stories are out least interesting things about us” ~ Mooji

2. The Road to Nowhere: There is a road going by, but you don’t know where it is going. You don’t know whether to go right or left, or whether to stay where you are. You don’t know. Sooner or later, out of boredom no doubt, you will make a choice. You will go right or left. And you will get excited thinking that you have made the right decision until you come to difficult terrain, and then you will be convinced that you went the wrong way.

This will happen whether you go right or left. It makes no difference. On the Road to Nowhere, it does not matter which way you go, because the road is circular and eventually returns to the same place. On the Road to Nowhere, the question is not “where are you going?” because you aren’t going anywhere in particular.

The question is “how are you going?.
Are you enjoying the journey?”
Are you going happily or sadly?
Are you going blessing or cursing the people you pass along the way?

On the Road to Nowhere the destination is not so important.
The only thing that is important is your state of consciousness. ~ Everyday Wisdom, Paul Ferrini

3. If you defend yourself you are attacked. By planning for the defense of a self that you are not, you are attacking the Self that you are. And if you feel defensive about anything you have identified with a self that you are not. ~ A Course In Miracles

4. One day the Buddha was walking through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him. “You have no right teaching others,” he shouted. “You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake!”

The Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man, “Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone, and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?”
The young man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered, “It would belong to me, because I bought the gift.”

The Buddha smiled and said, “That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are then the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself.”
