Thoughts and Quotes for Today 12.13.13 December 13, 2013

1. I am doing this to myself. Everything I experience I have asked for and received as per my request. Yet, everything that happens is carefully planned by one whose only purpose is my good – even what seem to be the bad things that happen. How I see and experience the stuff that happens is what I am doing to myself. Which is why I am learning to choose again – to make better choices in how I see and react to the stuff that seems to happen.  Thanks Benny

2. While we are preoccupied with our special relationships and the activities of the day, there is something else. We’re missing it! The Voice of Spirit/Source can be heard, but we are not listening. The pure light of the real world can be seen but that is not what we choose to see. The love of God/Source/Creator/Universe can be felt but we have blocked it from our awareness. While we are busy defending that which we mistakenly think we are, there is something else. If we really knew what we were missing we would drop everything and give it our full attention. There is something else – something expansive and more – even now – a complete alternative to what seems to have captured our awareness.

3. “When we’re true to ourselves, we become instruments of truth for the planet. Because we’re all connected, we touch the lives of everyone around us, who then affect others. Our only obligation is to be the love we are and allow our answers to come from within in the way that’s most appropriate for us.

Finally, I can’t stress enough how important it is to enjoy yourself and not take yourself or life too seriously. One of the biggest flaws with many traditional spiritual systems is that they give you such a somber outlook. Although you know that I abhor creating doctrines, if I ever had to create a set of tenets for a spiritual path to healing, number one on my list would be to make sure to laugh as often as possible throughout every single day—and preferably laugh at myself. This would be hands down over and above any form of prayer, meditation, chanting, or diet reform. Day-to-day problems never seem as big when viewed through a veil of humor and love.

In this age of information technology, we’re bombarded with news seemingly at the speed of light. We’re living in an age of high stress and fear, and in the midst of trying to protect ourselves from everything we think is “out there,” we’ve forgotten to enjoy ourselves and to take care of what’s inside.

Our life is our prayer. It’s our gift to this universe, and the memories we leave behind when we someday exit this world will be our legacy to our loved ones. We owe it to ourselves and to everyone around us to be happy and to spread that joy around.
If we can go through life armed with humor and the realization that we are love, we’ll already be ahead of the game. Add a box of good chocolates into the mix, and we’ve really got a winning formula!” ~ Anita Moorjani from Dying to be Me

“Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?’ ‘Supposing it didn’t,’ said Pooh after careful thought. Piglet was comforted by this.” ― A.A. Milne

“Piglet was so excited at the idea of being Useful that he forgot to be frightened any more.” ~ A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-pooh

“Anything we do in the world to “be nice” to someone is just a conditional aspect of worldly love with the ego as the guide. We have no idea of what nice and good is. Having a day that feels good is just a trick of the ego to keep us believing that it is the source of our happiness. If we believe that there is a “good” and a “bad” way to be, then we are caught in the ego world of form. Our function is to realize who we are as unlimited beings. My part is to move above this battleground and let Him take care of what I am to do.” -Sarah Huemmert

I hear that we are given numerous opportunities to redefine ourselves; but I prefer claiming unlimited opportunities to free myself from any perceived obstacle. Thanks Pamela

Grace:
When we know that we are worthy of love, we no longer need to engage in a profusion of activities designed to prove our worthiness to ourselves or to others.  Our inner sense of worth enables us to give love without demands or expectations, thereby creating the pathway through which love spontaneously returns to us.  Our relationship to the world, and also each other, is no longer one of manipulation, struggle or greed, but one of trust in the unfolding of all organic processes.  What needs to occur happens through us, because we are willing and able,  not because our egos need it to happen to validate self.  Grace unfolds in our lives and we are naturally drawn toward events and circumstances to which we can contribute our energy and attention.  Because we are flexible and cooperative, we meet our goals seemingly without effort.  ~ Everyday Wisdom by Paul Ferrini

2. Your deepest roots are in nature. No matter who you are, where you live, or what kind of life you lead, you remain irrevocably linked with the rest of creation. ~ Charles Cook

3. Psychic Tremors:  Few of us are willing to grab the sledge hammer and dismantle our cherished beliefs, even when it is obvious they aren’t working anymore. We become attached to our own creations. and so the process of destruction happens unconsciously.  Like an earthquake, it wells up from the depths of the psyche. Change always happens with our soul’s blessing. The old psychic structures must be destroyed so that the new structures needed for our growth can rise like the phoenix from the ashes. ~ Everyday Wisdom by Paul Ferrini

4. “Suffering is resisting what is just as Freedom is in acceptance” ??? Acceptance of what?? the Course says :“How can you who are so holy suffer? All your past except its beauty is gone, and nothing is left but a blessing. I have saved all your kindnesses and every loving thought you ever had. I have purified them of the errors that hid their light, and kept them for you in their own perfect radiance. They are beyond destruction and beyond guilt

5. This very moment of your life, if you experience it fully, will show you astonishing wonders and exquisite delights. Simple presence will take you on adventures you could miss altogether in the pursuit of nonstop thrills—without the anxiety, exhaustion, and expense. So learn to disbelieve the media hype. Listen for the wiser, deeper inner voice that tells you to relax, to melt open, to stop. Once you try it, you won’t believe what you’ve been missing.

1. When we do things for our Soul, we feel a river of Joy within…

2. “Remind everyone close to you to be themselves, and tell them that you love them just the way they are! They’re perfect and so are you. There’s nothing not to love. Most suffering stems from feeling “less than.” You aren’t less than anything or anyone! You are complete.

The only thing you need to learn is that you already are what you’re seeking to attain.! Just express your uniqueness fearlessly, with abandon! That’s why you’re made the way you are, and that’s why you’re here in the physical world.”

~ Anita Moorjani from Dying To Be Me

3. “Have the courage to speak your mind and tell the truth from a position of Love rather than anger or fear, being open to accept the views of others without feeling threatened or defeated, relinquishing the ego’s need to be in control by demonstrating the willingness to do whatever it takes to establish peace.” ~ Iyanla Vanzant

4. You are not your mind, your emotions or the circumstances of your life. You are the Peaceful observer of your mind and emotions that allows life circumstances to pass through and around you for your evolution to finally come to a place of total acceptance of all that IS. Only the Peaceful observer remains after all else fades away. Only the Peaceful observer in total acceptance of what IS can take action towards effectively changing anything. You are only this Peaceful observer – everything else is as fleeting as the blink of an eye, choose happiness and don’t buy into it. ~ Jackson Kiddard

5.  It isn’t the things that are happening to us that cause us to suffer, it’s what we say to ourselves about the things that are happening. The truth you believe and cling to makes you unavailable to hear anything new. ~ Pema Chodron
