Stay in Your Own Life: Don’t make decisions for other people. That will just take the focus away from your life. Let others find their own way. Support them. Encourage them. Cheer them on. But don’t think you know what’s good for them. You don’t know. When you take inappropriate responsibility for others, you overextend and weaken yourself. Don’t do that. Let others live their lives. Stay in your own life and make your own decisions. Put your attention where it belongs. Listen to your guidance, honor it, act on it, and be committed to it. That is a full time job.  ~ Everyday Wisdom by Paul Ferrini

Thoughts and Quotes on Enlightenment and illusion for Today 2.23.14 February 23, 2014

1. My speaking is meant to shake you awake, not to tell you how to dream better. – Adyashanti

2. If you see the illusion you are enlightened, but if you think that you are enlightened, you are in the illusion. – Papaji

3. Truth is not just about what we say…it is the realization that what we’ve created, individually or collectively, is illusion. As we awaken, truth gets revealed to us…It sometimes rocks our “here and now” existence, creates feelings of pain or loss in the moment…but it also sets us free. When we free ourselves from the illusions, we can return to our own power.

4. Do not think that enlightenment is going to make you special, it’s not. If you feel special in any way, then enlightenment has not occurred. I meet a lot of people who think they are enlightened and awake simply because they have had a very moving spiritual experience. They wear their enlightenment on their sleeve like a badge of honor. They sit among friends and talk about how awake they are while sipping coffee at a cafe. The funny thing about enlightenment is that when it is authentic, there is no one to claim it. Enlightenment is very ordinary; it is nothing special. Rather than making you more special, it is going to make you less special. It plants you right in the center of a wonderful humility and innocence. Everyone else may or may not call you enlightened, but when you are enlightened the whole notion of enlightenment and someone who is enlightened is a big joke. I use the word enlightenment all the time; not to point you toward it but to point you beyond it. Do not get stuck in enlightenment. – Adyashanti

5. Today We Affirm:  In my world, there is magic even in the mundane. I am not looking for special people or special moments. This moment is enough and I am sufficient for the moment. By Grace, I see my world with loving gentle eyes and I allow myself to be just as I am, and just as I am not. Therefore, I release all others to be just as they are. I will not push or bully myself today but instead I walk with the Mighty Ones Who guide me down the gentle paths of freedom, love and peace. ~ Jacob Glass

1. “You have to love yourself because no amount of love from others is sufficient to fill the yearning that your soul requires from you.”

2. There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man: true nobility is being superior to your former self. ~ Ernest Hemingway

3. It is not your brother that gives you forgiveness opportunities. It is your own judgments, opinions, positions, choices and reactions that give you the forgiveness opportunities.

4. True Prosperity: Do not cheat yourself by working out of sacrifice. Do not cheat others by working out of greed. Do not deny yourself what you need to live with dignity. Yet be respectful of the needs of others and do not take more than you need. Find a balance between meeting your material needs and your spiritual needs. That is what true prosperity means. ~ Paul Ferrini

1. If perfect love casts out fear, And if fear exists, Then there is not perfect love. But only perfect love really exists. If there is fear, It creates a state which does not exist.

2. Healing is not about fixing something that appears to be broken. It’s about reminding ourselves of the wholeness that already resides within. ~ Emmanual

3. One of the most painful comparisons and judgments that I make is when I compare how I did today with how much better I did it before. Another dig that the ego employs resulting in me condemning myself for not achieving a better result. Yet even this test of perfect peace must be passed if I am to leave such nonsense behind. If I truly put it all in the hands of Divine Love then what’s the problem?

4. I am only dealing with another forgiveness opportunity because I am seeing through the eyes of judgment (personal opinions and positions). If I do not give any of it any meaning to begin with, then I will not always find myself needing to forgive… “I am never upset for the reasons I think.”

1. “You may believe that you are responsible for what you do, but not for what you think. The truth is that you are responsible for what you think, because it is only at this level that you can exercise choice. What you do comes from what you think. ”  ~Marianne Williamson

2. “Love and forgiveness is actually a state of mind, not something you do in certain cases. It’s about what you hold and live and the kind of truth you can say lovingly.” James Redfield

3. “I wonder how many people don’t get the one they want, but end up with the one they’re supposed to be with.”  ~ Fannie Flagg, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe

4. Like an actor playing a role we have chosen a role for our life. But we have forgotten we can change our role any time we like.

5. Our thoughts are doorways. Loving thoughts bring US home to Love. Every room feels safe. Fearful thoughts bring US into the dungeon of fear. And every thought attracts more allies like it. Today, we can choose where we place our life-giving focus.

1. My best days, my best work, my best play, my best love, my best joy are all still ahead of me. And this is so for anyone who says so. ~ Thanks Jacob

2. True healing occurs when I let go of the need to be healed and trust and enjoy the ride that is Life. ~ Anita Moorjani

3. “You undertook, together, to invite the Holy Spirit into your relationship. He could not have entered otherwise. Although you may have made many mistakes since then, you have also made enormous efforts to help Him do His work. And He has not been  lacking in appreciation for all you have done for Him. Nor does He see the mistakes at all. Have you been similarly grateful to your brother? Have you consistently appreciated the good efforts, and overlooked mistakes? Or has your appreciation flickered and grown dim in what seemed to be the light of the mistakes? Perhaps you are now entering upon a campaign to blame him for the discomfort of the situation in which you find yourself. And by this lack of thanks and gratitude you make yourself unable to express the holy instant, and thus lose sight of it.” – A Course in Miracles

4. Rather than focus today on the tragedy which happened to our country 12 years ago, let us rediscover the Love and forgiveness which can happen each day across the world.

1. Remove blame from your vocabulary. Catch yourself when you find yourself using your past history as a reason for your failure to act today, and instead say, “I am free now to detach myself from what I used to be.” ~ Wayne Dyer

2. “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Confucius

3. “Most of the shadows of life are caused by standing in our own sunshine.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

4. Simple Truths by Jacob Glass

Being afraid, desperate, needy and worried is the extreme opposite of being open to receive. Have you ever tried to contribute to a completely frantic person? It’s extremely difficult. They are not in the right state of mind. And this is why RELAXATION is so important as preparation for miracles.

It sounds ridiculous and trite to say, but in order to prepare for our good we need to:

 C A L M   D O W N   A N D   C H E E R   U P !

This is difficult for an undisciplined mind to do. We are so used to wanting the SITUATION to calm us down and cheer us up.  We want the world to do our work for us. But we all know by now that this is simply not going to happen. WE have to take our own emotional journey FIRST in order to be RECEPTIVE to our good.

This is what the vibrational cleanup helps with so much. We take responsibility for our ATTITUDES and for our thinking. We STIMULATE our own joy in whatever ways we can at the moment. We calm down and cheer up by petting the cat, singing HAPPY songs instead of the victim songs, watching comedies, running the dog on the beach, having a massage, delivering food to the hungry, doing lists of positive aspects, going on rampages of appreciation, doing some physical exercise, wearing something that makes us feel cute or sexy or elegant or whatever good feeling we want to feel, cleaning up the clutter around the house, watching the sunrise or sunset, making lists of “wouldn’t it be nice if . . . “, cooking a meal for friends, milking and savoring the good each day, giving a compliment to someone, looking in the mirror and saying, “Hey cutie, we’re going to have a wonderful day today and fabulous little miracles are going to happen all day long.”

Just make a start, right where you are. It’s not about overwhelming ourselves with trying to “turn over a whole new leaf” at once. Keep it simple. We are simply massaging our thoughts to a better feeling place, one thought at a time. We are soothing ourselves into the state of receptivity to a miraculous mindset.
