Review and Renew With Gratitude:

No matter what my current reality is – no matter how frustrating, painful, threatening or terrifying it is in the moment – there is one thing I know I can count on: THE MAJORITY OF LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL AND WORKS. My problem, and I’m sure this happens to others, is that in times of perceived trouble, I don;t always see the beauty. It’s not that it isn’t there, it’s just that I don’t see through the morass of my own reality to the underlying perfection that always resides.

It amazes me how situation-centric and myopic I can be about distressing things; how I can sit in the midst of beauty and focus entirely as what I view as uncomfortable. Even as I write this, an issue in my life is weighing heavily on me, and I know that if I intend to live aware and grateful, I must take steps to right this situation. This does not mean I need to fix it, rectify it or reason through it (although all of those things will eventually be required). What it means is that I need to put it into perspective with everything else. The sun still shines, the leaves are budding, I am healthy and vibrant, my life is good and at times such as these, it is an absolute necessity to bring my focus to the whole of my life and not just one isolated circumstance.

Now is the time to review and renew that old mantra I was taught as a child to use as a tool. Now is the time to “STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN.” Stop obsessing on a situation, stop justifying my stance, stop replaying it over and over and stop complaining about it. Look around. Look at the beauty, the vibrancy, the abundance, the light. And listen – listen to that inner voice that calls forward the gift of life, being and joy. Love, peace, beauty, energy, abundance and light surround me and await my recognition of it. Suddenly the situation – whether health, wealth, creative expression or relationship – takes on the proportion it deserves instead of the bulk I have bestowed upon it. Suddenly life is filled yet again with beauty. The situation did not change; my perspective changed, and my perspective is what creates the quality of my life experience. BLESSINGS. ~Dr. Kenn Gordon ~ Science of Mind

1. Form is not a constant but a result. Form is the result of belief. – ACOL

2. Nothing in the world can bother you as much as your own mind, I tell you. In fact, others seem to be bothering you, but it’s not others, it is your mind. ~ Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

3. You have more harmony points with every person on the planet than you have disharmony points, because there is much more of you that is in harmony with your Core than you realize or that most of you allow. The closer you come to being in harmony with your Source Energy, the more in harmony you are with each other. When you think about other people and what they think of you, do you understand that what they think of you has very little to do with what you are? It has mostly to do with the habits of thought that they have developed. It has more to do with them as thinkers than it does with you as the subject of their thought. If nothing is more important to you than that you feel good, you can form a fantasy about someone who is in your life and they will begin to modify to meet your fantasy, because Law of Attraction is a very powerful thing.  ~ Abraham-Hicks

4. There are two things that other people can’t and won’t live up to: YOUR VALUES AND YOUR FANTASIES Don’t fall into the illusion that anyone else is obligated to live according to what’s important to you in any way or at any time, even when they say they intend to. If they do, be grateful. BUT if they don’t, be unsurprised; they’re just being true to themselves and making decisions accordingly.” The Heart of Love by Dr John Demartini

5. From A YEAR OF MIRACLES: I AM OPEN TO THINGS BEING DIFFERENT THAN THEY WERE. Nothing needs to be as it was. The first step in creating the new is dropping the notion that what already exists is inevitable going forward . Today I am open to new possibilities, allowing the universe to move through me in creating new patterns of goodness for myself and others. I will not hold on to thoughts that bind me to the limits of my past.

Be YOU

1. “I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.” ~ Audrey Hepburn  … Laughing infuses every single cell in our body with Love.

2. Sometimes your only available transportation is a Leap of Faith. ~ Margaret Shepard

3. To love is to recognize yourself in another. ~ Eckhart Tolle

4. Love is not selective, just as the light of the sun is not selective. It does not make one person special. It is not exclusive. Exclusivity is not the love of God but the “love” of ego. However, the intensity with which true love is felt can vary. There may be one person who reflects your love back to you more clearly and more intensely than others, and if that person feels the same toward you, it can be said that you are in a love relationship with him or her. The bond that connects you with that person is the same bond that connects you with the person sitting next to you on a bus, or with a bird, a tree, a flower. Only the degree of intensity with which it is felt differs. ~ Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now

5. “I’ve heard people say that they cling to their painful thoughts because they’re afraid that without them they wouldn’t be activists for peace. “If I feel peaceful,” they say, “why would I bother taking action at all? My answer is  “Because that’s what Love does.” To think that we need sadness or outrage to motivate us to do what’s right is insane. As if the clearer and happier you get, the less kind you become. As if when someone finds freedom, she just sits around all day wiith drool running down her chin. My experience is the opposite. Love is action.” ~ Byron Katie

6. When you say, I enjoy doing this or that, it is really a misperception. It makes it appear that the joy comes from what you do, but that is not the case. Joy does not come from what you do, it flows into what you do and thus into this world from deep within you. The misperception that joy comes from what you do is normal, and it is also dangerous, because it creates the belief that joy is something that can be derived from something else, such as an activity or thing. You then look to the world to bring you joy, happiness. But it cannot do that. This is why many people live in constant frustration. The world is not giving them what they think they need. ~  Eckhart Tolle

1. “When we share the particular gifts that we have been given, we free our life force from its cage of separation. If we were born with a song in our heart, then we must sing it; if there is a vision in our soul, then we must live it. When we express fully all that we are, we participate in the flow of life. We are not meant to sit on the sideline, passively watching others live. We are meant to be vehicles through which our spirits can flow outward to life.” – John Robbins

2. When you finally get it that the Universe is only answering your vibration, then you understand that if you are victim to anything, it’s only your haphazard offering of vibration. The real desire that is being born within you is, “I want to vibrate on purpose. I want to set my Tone. I want to conclude and decide and offer it consistently and then watch the results of it.” You cannot get it done, ever, and you cannot get it wrong. So you might as well relax and start having fun with this. -Abraham

3. “When we’re true to ourselves, we become instruments of truth for the planet. Because we’re all connected, we touch the lives of everyone around us, who then affect others. Our only obligation is to be the love we are and allow our answers to come from within in the way that’s most appropriate for us.

Finally, I can’t stress enough how important it is to enjoy yourself and not take yourself or life too seriously. One of the biggest flaws with many traditional spiritual systems is that they give you such a somber outlook. Although you know that I abhor creating doctrines, if I ever had to create a set of tenets for a spiritual path to healing, number one on my list would be to make sure to laugh as often as possible throughout every single day—and preferably laugh at myself. This would be hands down over and above any form of prayer, meditation, chanting, or diet reform. Day-to-day problems never seem as big when viewed through a veil of humor and love.” ~ Anita Moorjani

4. Ponder these three statements:

1) You are doing this to yourself.

2) The you that seems to be having these adventures in space and time is not really you.

3) The place where it all seems to be happening does not exist. Now let’s get real…

Set your Life on Fire

1. “Fear is the cheapest room in the house. I would like to see you living in better conditions.” ~ Hafiz.

2. Joy unwraps the gift in every moment.

3. “Your Brother’s Call for Help: You can walk on one leg, but it is not as efficient as walking on two.  You can live a solitary life, but you won’t grow as much spiritually as you will if you interact with others. To be alone is essential, but never sufficient. No matter how solitary you become, you cannot escape your brother’s call for help. To try to do so is foolish. For it is his call for help that forces you to look at your own anger, fear and guilt.” ~ Paul Ferrini

4. Share of your Self not through mere accomplishments; but by simply being a witness for All Love existing through and beyond you.

5. Seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world. ~ACIM

6. That which thinks that there is something that it needs to get (a person, thing, situation or event) for its fulfillment, completion and happiness is ego. Spirit (the reality of US) is eternally whole and its joy is complete – Spirit is not aware of a need to get ANYTHING. What does EVERYTHING need?

1. “There are no new stressful thoughts. They’re all recycled.” – Byron Katie

2. It’s time to stop trying to get from another person what we are unwilling to give ourselves.

3. It is not death that sets us free. It is only the truth that will set us free. Killing the body will not heal the mind that makes the mistake of identifying with an illusion. That mind will simply make another illusion with which to identify.

4. We cannot pray our way out of a problems that we continue to “behave” our way into.  Become can be vigilant that we do not write with one hand and then erase it with the other. Affirm then stand firm.

5. Today We Affirm:  Life is to be savored and enjoyed! I am lining up with my highest good and adjusting my attitude as I tune to JOY. I allow happy experiences to flow on my path this week as I focus on laughing away all fear thoughts while I walk with ease through the open doors.

Peace of mind is internal
