Thoughts and Quotes for Today 11.16.13 November 16, 2013

1. “What do you want for our planet, for your community? If what you want is peace and cooperation, and you are willing to really not know how that will come about, then your mind will open to discover.” ~ from Gangaji’s Letting the World into Your Heart

2. Trust, faith and hope are only my imagination that the future is real. They take me out of THIS Perfection that is always here, Now…

3. The Past & The Big Picture:  The past only has an impact on the present when you continue to waste your powerful thought and feeling energies on something that no longer exists at all, other than in your own mind. Whatever it was that happened is finished now, and no matter how uncomfortable it was for you, you need to come to the understanding that at some level you chose it, and that it helped to build your character and make you a stronger individual.

Whenever you do find yourself wondering why something turned out the way it did, I suggest calling to mind the old adage that often times ‘God does work in mysterious ways’. The truth is, you really don’t know the ‘big picture’. So, even though you might be inclined to feel sad about a certain event in your past, make the decision to accept the realization that there is a higher order to things, and that something good will eventually come of it. – Jeff Maziarek, from “Spirituality Simplified”

4. How to tell if you are dead or alive: if we are fearful, unhappy or concerned for any reason, then we are dead. If Peace, Love, Joy and Light are in our awareness, then we are alive. Our function here is to be about the business of raising the dead.

1. There is no security for those who seek it outside of themselves. I am Love, as long as I seek it from you, I can’t know that… ~ Bryon Katie

2. An “enemy” presents you with nothing but the opportunity to change your mind.

3. We can choose to hold a white-knuckled, painful death grip on the past; yet, after all the pain and numbness subsists, we can open our hands and see nothing was ever there to grip onto.   People will say, “Well, I have to work on my goals,” or, “I have to work on my visualization.” And we want you to think more about holding the vision because it is pleasurable to hold the vision, not because you’re trying to make the vision work in order to get to some place that you’re not now standing. “How much should I work?” We would say, work in the sense of joyously moving forward. ~Abraham

4. The Power of Light: Light does not resist or avoid darkness.  It merely includes it, welcomes it.  Thus, darkness disappears into the light.  Light is not afraid of the shadow for it knows the appearance of the shadow is the first sign of illumination.  When the shadow cannot provoke our fear, it has no power to undermine us. ~ Paul Ferrini

1. Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t. – Steve Maraboli

2. Taking off the Mask: The persona and the behavior associated with it is just a mask. If you see only the mask, you won’t see who the other person is. If s/he sees only your mask, s/he will not see you truly. ~ Paul Ferrini

3. Suffering is a product of limited knowledge. ~ Sri Sri Ravishankar

4. When we slow down we allow the Universe to work on our behalf.

5. The Wrong Choice?: You think your problem lies in making the wrong choice. Yet every choice is an opportunity to learn. It cannot be wrong, unless your refuse to learn from your mistakes. ~ Paul Ferrini

6. “Life is love, dearest. All else is imagined confusion.” ~Byron Katie

1. Take a step of ultimate bravery.. dare to look within and see only grandeur! Thanks Pamela

2. “There is no reality except the one contained within us. That is why so many people live such an unreal life. They take the images outside of them for reality and never allow the world within to assert itself.” ― Hermann Hesse

3. You’re not helping anybody by being miserable. Regardless of your philosophical beliefs, the fact remains that you were born and you are going to die. During the time in between, you get to choose whether or not you want to enjoy the experience. Events don’t determine whether or not you’re going to be happy. They’re just events. You determine whether or not you’re going to be happy. You can be happy just to be alive. You can be happy having all these things happen to you, and then be happy to die. If you can live this way, your heart will be so open and your Spirit will be so free, that you will soar up to the heavens. ~ The Untethered Soul

4. Reality is safe and sure and kind. The world that we see does not exist. We are not a body and there is no death. We are eternal Spirit, perfect even as our creator/source is perfect and eternal. Love is all that can be given or received, and we are lacking nothing. We cannot be threatened in any way. There is nothing to fear.

“Can you imagine what it means to have no cares, no worries, no anxieties but merely to be perfectly calm and quiet all the time? Yet that is what time is for; to learn just that and nothing more.”

“What is time without a past and future? It has taken time to misguide you so completely, but it takes no time at all to be what you are.”

“Take this very instant, now, and think of it as all there is of time. Nothing can reach you here out of the past, and it is here that you are completely absolved and completely free and wholly without condemnation. From this holy instant wherein holiness was born again you will go forth in time without fear, and with no sense of change with time.” – ACIM

1. Stay Humble, I could be wrong…..

2. In order to have faith in his own path, he does not need to prove that someone else’s path is wrong. ~ Paulo Coelho

3. I am doing this to myself. Everything I experience I have asked for and received as per my request. Yet, everything that happens is carefully planned by one whose only purpose is my good – even what seem to be the bad things that happen. How I see and experience the stuff that happens is what I am doing to myself, and I may or may not be making the best choices. Which is why I am learning to choose again – to make better choices in how I see and react to the stuff that seems to happen.

4. This is a hospital and we are here for one reason – the healing of our sick split mind. Another way to say it is that this is a school and we are here to learn. Learning and healing are the same thing when it comes to correcting a mind that is momentarily mad with guilt. One other thing – when we meet another it is our self that we meet. There is no mind that is not our mind, and all of our mind must learn and accept a healing. That is why there is a plan, and a curriculum has been established.\\

5. “We must become so alone, so utterly alone, that we withdraw into our innermost self. It is a way of bitter suffering. But then our solitude is overcome, we are no longer alone, for we find that our innermost self is the spirit, that it is God, the indivisible. And suddenly we find ourselves in the midst of the world, yet undisturbed by its multiplicity, for our innermost soul we know ourselves to be one with all being.” ― Hermann Hesse

1. Usually when we are sad it is because we are focusing on the exclusive story of little you, rather than on the magnitude of the inclusive wholeness of you. We know we are making progress when our little story does not concern us the way it used to. There is something much larger, expansive, certain and joyful in our awareness.

2. We are making choices every moment – choosing to forgive or hold grievances – to serve separate interests or the greater good – choosing love or fear – strength or weakness – to be aware and present or to let our mind wander, etc. The purpose of learning is to be aware and to make better choices – choices that lead to peace, freedom and an awareness of Love – choices that render a state of mind that is ripe for a shift in awareness – a broad expansive re-association of the mind that is all-inclusive.

3. The middle way is pretty much like being in the world but not of it. We still seem to be here but we are no longer deceived by any of it. We no longer feel threatened or fearful. We may appear to participate but we are not concerned about results. We smile a lot more as our light blesses the world. And absolutely nothing disturbs our peace.

4. Byron Katie is masterful at unraveling the mind: “As long as we’re at war with our own minds, we’re at war with the world and with the whole human race. Because as long as we want to get rid of our thoughts, anyone that we meet is likely to become an enemy. There is only one mind, and people are going to tell us what we haven’t dealt with yet in our own thinking. “You’re fat. You’re stupid. You’re not good enough.” If you are an enemy to your own mind, other people have to become enemies too, sooner or later. Until you understand, until you can love the thoughts that appear in your mind, then you can’t love the rest of us. You work with the projector — the mind — not the projected world. I can’t really love you until I question the mind that thinks it sees you outside itself.” -Arjuna Ardagh “The Translucent view”

5. Thank you, Thank You , Thank YOU…

1. The willingness to tell the truth about who you are is the willingness to no longer be a victim—regardless of pain, circumstances, or the real horror that occurs in the world.  It doesn’t mean you trivialize or deny it. It means you are encouraged to meet fully the experience of whatever appears. You do not have to hide or run; you do not have to justify. You just meet it. To be willing to be annihilated by it is the willingness to discover directly what can never be annihilated. ~ Gangaji

2. We effort (try) to address our problem in the hopes of happiness
It does not occur to us that the playing with problems IS the problem
It does not occur to us that happiness is bound to unhappiness

It does not occur to us that real Awakening is not dependent on happiness
it does not occur to us that real Awakening is not about addressing problems
It is such magic and amazement that even while we live and change as people
we are utterly free of problem orientation. ~ Sage Lee

3. The problem is not the problem; the problem is your attitude about the problem. ~ Captain Jack Sparrow

4. Today We Affirm: Love and Joy are the guiding forces of my life.

I need do nothing to force anything happen for the Divine Plan of my life operates through attraction, not promotion.

I follow the Call to Joy instead of the drive of ambition. My vibration is clear, strong and alive with prospering power.

I listen to the Guidance of the still small Voice and I know that God is on the Field.

Today I am walking through the open doors as I recognize that right where I am, God is, and all is well. ~ Jacob Glass
