1. Hiding the Truth from Yourself

The only thing that is easier than deceiving others is deceiving yourself. You may be a master at taking truth and inverting it, but just because you have inverted truth does not mean the truth ceases to be true. It means only that you have succeeded in hiding the truth from yourself. ~ From Everyday Wisdom by Paul Ferrini

2. “I believe that those children who were murdered today are already in paradise with God and they will never know pain again. The only place I knew to go today after I left work was to the adoration chapel at St. Pat’s to pray in the presence of the Holy Eucharist. To pray for the children, for the adults who were killed, for their families, for the family of the shooter, to ask for the willingness to pray for the shooter, to pray for the medical personel and the first responders. To just pray because there is no way to understand.” ~ Thank Susan

3. “You wake up in the morning and the sun is starting to shine and you think, oh, its going to be a beautiful day. And then it washes over you, like a wave on a sandy shore, I can’t have a beautiful day, I have lost my child, someone that has been a part of me for so very long, is gone. And how can I have a beautiful day when she can’t? From the very depths of your soul you feel, such sorrow, such anger, and such guilt, survivors guilt and the guilt of a mother wondering what could she have done differently to prevent this horrific ending of her child’s life. How could this have happened? You feel like you have had open heart surgery, without anesthetic. Every day for years, the same scenario happens when you wake up, at first feeling all is fine, and then realizing it isn’t fine, it is not fine at all. Then there comes a day when you wake up and you decide to have a beautiful day, when the surgery becomes a scar, and you realize, that as hard as it has been, it was a part of your life, a sad part, but not the whole part. You can breathe again, you feel free again, and you go on, knowing that you have been given a huge lesson, one that you would have preferred to learn another way, but it was given to you, and you need to make the best of it. Through prayers, meditation, and miracles, you realize that your child is all right, and happy, and she wants you to go on, not to be sad, and live your life the best you can. And that you are still whole, because she – who was a part of you – still is a part of you, unseen, unheard, but felt in every instance of your life. And she tells you, “be an example mom, show others who have lost children that they can heal, that there is so much to life that is not apparent, it’s all a part of the whole, we are one with the entire Universe, you cannot lose anyone. they just turn from substance and matter in to love. I love you mom”” ~ Thanks Kathy

4. Every situation properly perceived, becomes an opportunity to heal.

Sometimes we need someone to simply BE there... not to fix anything or do anything particular but just to let us feel we are supported and cared about
